Lunching out: Big Bens
Big Ben's has taken over a spot in Webster that has not had a lot of luck. It's not nearly as deadly to a restaurant as the old Gallagher's Steak House location, but it's not a great spot. Big Ben's has an English pub-like menu and a large number of TV screens throughout.
When I got there about noon on Friday, there were very few customers.
I tried the Shepherd's Pie witha glass of iced tea. The SP was pretty good, even though I think they used instant potatoes. It was very mild flavor-wise, but piping hot temperature-wise. I think my total tab was about $12. I'd be willing to go back to sample more items. Below is my meal:
