Techniques:

Today was weird.  During warm-up ukemi folks were attempting Sumi-otoshi and Kote gaeshi.  We noticed all sorts of grabbing occurring.  Trey found some sparring target gloves and made tori wear them while attempting the throw.  They couldn't get the final "kata" form of the throw, but they did get appropriate roll-outs.

Trey and I worked on the first 4 knife defenses for an hour after the kyu grades left.

Volleyball, 0-3

Lost handily to the number one team in the league.  On the only two hand block I put up, I took a hard hit on the right hand.  The right shoulder complained quite a bit because of it.  The nice thing is the right shoulder did not complain about the act of attempting to block, just the actual block itself.  A slight improvement in behavior.

Volleyball, 1-2

We played "Like we give a hit" and played them close.  The first game we won 21-18.  The second game we lost 18-21.  The third we lost 15-17.  All three games could have gone either way.

Right arm still complains when I block using both arms.  It does not like the sudden upward movement.

We got to start class at 10 a.m. since the sword swingers did not have their usual class.  We ended class at 12:40.  So, we got a little more time in than usual.

Techniques:

We spent a good portion of the day working at 3 step distance and practicing at being in sync.  Initially, it was staying in sync and just getting an off-balance.  We eventually progressed to doing the same thing, but attempting Aigamae ate and Kote gaeshi at the same pace.
